The Mississippi Miss Hospitality Competition has recently completed a brand refresh in advance of its 75th anniversary celebration. New elements include a redesigned program logo and graphics exclusive to the 2024 competition anniversary. The new look will be incorporated into the Mississippi Miss Hospitality website, collateral, contestant sashes, and special promotional items.
The Mississippi Miss Hospitality competition was established in 1949 under Governor Fielding Wright and the Mississippi Legislature. To celebrate 75 years, Mississippi Miss Hospitality will commemorate the program’s service to economic development and tourism through a Diamond Jubilee celebration in 2024.
In anticipation of this upcoming anniversary, the Mississippi Miss Hospitality program desired an updated brand image that visually reflects the organization’s commitment to remaining relevant in today’s dynamic world of scholarship programs while honoring its rich history. The new logo seamlessly blends traditional elements with a fresh and modern tone.
An anniversary logo was also created as part of this banner year and will be used on commemorative items and at events to celebrate the positive and longstanding influence Mississippi Miss Hospitality has had across the state. In over seven decades, thousands of local titleholders have benefitted from the program.
Annually, the competition brings together the state’s best and brightest young women for a week of leadership development as they compete for the state title and over $100,000 in scholarships and prizes. More than 40 participants are expected to participate in the 75th program in Hattiesburg this summer.
The young woman crowned each year serves as Mississippi’s Goodwill Ambassador for economic development and tourism, traveling to promote Mississippi through ribbon cuttings, special tourism events, organized appearances, and speaking engagements.
“Through the Miss Hospitality program, young women are not only vying for a title but also stepping into a transformative experience that cultivates leadership skills, fosters community engagement, and celebrates the diverse aspirations found across our state,” said program director Kristen Brock. “In this anniversary year, we invite all former contestants back to Hattiesburg to celebrate their meaningful contributions to Mississippi communities and our program throughout the years.”
The Mississippi Miss Hospitality program empowers contestants to become confident ambassadors for the state, poised to make a lasting impact on their communities and beyond. Eligible applicants are women between the ages of 18 and 24, residents of Mississippi, high school graduates, and who have earned a 2.5 or higher scholastic average.
The 2024 Mississippi Miss Hospitality competition will be held at the historic Saenger Theater in downtown Hattiesburg on July 13 and 14. Ticket sales will be announced on the program’s social media pages and website in late spring 2024. For more information about the competition, visit MissHospitality.com.
