Two years, countless memories, and a heart so full

Two years, countless memories, and a heart so full of gratitude for The University of Southern Mississippi. Between being a Dixie Darling and a student in the School of Media & Communication, all while serving as Mississippi Miss Hospitality, Southern Miss gave me opportunities and experiences that changed my life and surrounded me with so much love.💛

And thanks to the Miss Hospitality program, I’m graduating completely debt free, and that is a blessing I will never take for granted. I’ll always be grateful to Miss Hospitality and Southern Miss for being such a special part of my story.

To every person who believed in me and poured into me during my time here, thank you. From the people I knew to the ones I met along the way, I’m better because of you.

I can only hope I’m leaving Southern Miss better than I found it.

Madelyn is a freshman at The University of Southern Mississippi and will be transferring to Pearl River Community College this fall as a sophomore, majoring in Pediatric Nursing.

I really enjoyed getting to talk with her and hearing her share about her hometown and all the things that make Marion County so special.

She is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I learned so many new things about Scott County during this episode, and I know you will too!
