In honor of International Women’s Day, I wanted to

In honor of International Women’s Day, I wanted to share my favorite part of the Mississippi Miss Hospitality program: the sisterhood. The women I have met through this program are some of the most genuine, driven, supportive, and beautiful people I know, and I am so incredibly thankful to call each of them my sister.

During competition week is when that sisterhood is felt the most and grows even stronger. It’s the late night speech practices, the laughter in the wings during rehearsal (if you know, you know @jennifer.townsend5678), and the endless encouragement we give each other. Even though we’re all competing, we’re constantly supporting each other fiercely, which is exactly what celebrating women is all about.

I’m so grateful for these friendships, and I cannot wait for the Class of 2026 to experience the love and sisterhood that make the Mississippi Miss Hospitality competition so special. ✨🩷

It was an absolute honor to attend the Women in Higher Education Mississippi Network Conference this morning and introduce keynote speaker, Dr. Martha Saunders. Getting the opportunity to meet her, visit with her, and introduce her was especially meaningful, as she made history as the first female president of the University of Southern Mississippi.🦅

Being in a room filled with so many incredible women leaders was truly so powerful. Thank you to the USM Center for Women and Leadership for the invitation and for hosting such a meaningful event. I’m grateful to have been a part of it.💛
