State Competition Requirements

The Mississippi Miss Hospitality Competition will continue in Hattiesburg, MS in 2023, celebrating 74 years of serving the state’s economic development and tourism industries. The information below will provide a timeline for the upcoming year’s deadlines, dates will be updated as they are available. 

  • Local contestants must attend Contestant Workshop on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in Hattiesburg.
  •  Local contestants must attend the entirety of preliminary and on-stage competition in Hattiesburg from July 9 – 15, 2023. Housing, transportation, and an exciting line-up of events will be provided.

  • Each contestant must submit her Official Competition Packet in a single file along with registration fee of $300 by Friday, May 5, 2023 at 5 p.m.. A $50 late fee will be charged for packets received after this date. This will be strictly enforced.

  • Contestants must sell at least four (4) full pages of advertising in the Mississippi Miss Hospitality program book.
  • If a contestant is currently enrolled in an out-of-state college or university and wins the state title, she must immediately enroll in a college or university in Mississippi. A scholarship will be provided. Scholarships will be awarded each semester of a contestant’s reign, based on successful adherence to appearance and title responsibilities.  
  •  Contestants must do their own hair and makeup at the State Competition. No one will be allowed in the accommodations or backstage prior to competition.
  • Contestants must appoint a Little Miss Hospitality to serve alongside her during her reign and provide the Little Miss’ information to the State Office by Friday, March 17, 2023.
