State Competition Requirements

The Mississippi Miss Hospitality Competition will continue in Hattiesburg, MS in 2026, commemorating 77 years of serving the state’s economic development and tourism industries. The information below will provide a timeline for the upcoming year’s deadlines.

  • Local contestants will attend Contestant Workshop on Saturday, May 30, 2026 in Hattiesburg.
  • Local contestants must attend the entirety of preliminary and on-stage competition in Hattiesburg from July 12 – 18, 2026. Housing, transportation, and an exciting line-up of events will be provided.

  • Each contestant will submit her Official Competition Packet in a single file along with registration fee of $350 by April 23, 2026 at 5 p.m. A $50 late fee will be charged for packets received after this date. This will be strictly enforced.

  • Contestants are required to sell at least four (4) full pages of advertising in the Mississippi Miss Hospitality program book. A scholarship for the highest ad sales will be awarded.
  • If a contestant is currently enrolled in an out-of-state college or university and wins the state title, she must immediately enroll in a college or university in Mississippi. A scholarship will be provided. Scholarships will be awarded each semester of a contestant’s reign, based on successful adherence to appearance and title responsibilities.  
  •  Contestants complete their own hair and makeup at the State Competition. No one will be allowed in the accommodations or backstage prior to competition to assist.
  • Contestants get the opportunity to appoint a Little Miss Hospitality to serve alongside them during their reign. Little Miss information must be provided by each contestant to the State Office by March 13, 2026.
